RIESLING GRAND CRU,
PREMIER CRU & VILLAGE WINE

Riesling cultivation on Bürgstadter Berg has a long tradition.

spätburgunder franken fürst

This is not only ripe but tastes of stewed cherries. The same attentive vinification methods as for all our other wines apply here, too.

  • Viticulture: Organic (not certified)
  • Vinification: 5-35% whole cluster, 2-week ambient yeast fermentation in open-top wooden and concrete tanks, aged for 14-16 months in used barrels, no fining, no filtration.

The Klingenberger, which is sourced from young vines in the Grosse Lage Schlossberg, is warm, fine and silky.

  • ESTATE WINE

There is no compromise on quality for our base red wine, the Spätburgunder Tradition. Ultra feine, harmonische Tanninstruktur und nahezu perfekt verwobene Fruchtsäure, die dominierende Kirschfrucht ist schlicht köstlich.

This elegant and harmonious wine offers a combination of red berries with delicate spice and fruit.

    Tradition

    PINOT NOIR PRÉCOCE

The rarely cultivated, capricious and fickle Frühburgunder is an old clone native to Bürgstadt. These vines are also subject to intensive manual labour. As in the traditional style of Burgundian vinification, fermentation takes place in open wooden vats with a high proportion of whole clusters, sometimes up to 100%.

The Centgrafenberg vineyard in Bürgstadt has always been the home of our winery.

We are generally quite proud of the long ageing potential of our wines.

90 points Stephan Reinhardt (Wine Advocate): "The 2019 Spätburgunder Tradition is incredibly attractive on the blunt, aromatic, perfectly ripe and so charmingly fruit-intense nose. The wine is generally more powerful, incredibly complex, and often has a taste of dark chocolate.

The Weisser Burgunder “R” comes from the easternmost plot of the Bürgstädter Berg and is the winery’s top Pinot Blanc. Drink: 2021-2040. Although it is also grown on red sandstone and matured in small wooden barrels, the wine is much darker, tastes of wild berries and chocolate, and is a hearty accompaniment to food.

Our winery also produces fine sparkling wines from the Burgundian varieties according to the tradition method of bottle fermentation directly on the premises.

Überaus feiner und edler Spätburgunder in seiner Klasse, bietet deutlich mehr als er kostet, Finesse, Eleganz und viel Drive zeichnen ihn aus. The tannins are ripe and finely bitter, and the sandstone adds its freshness. Nachhaltig und druckvoll im Abgang. A gorgeous wine for 15 euros ex-cellar. When fermented dry, these wines display elegance and pure minerality.
